ESTIA
Bicycle Inspired by the Readership of Martha Stewart Living ©
Full description available in portfolio.
ESTIA is a bicycle designed for the readership of Martha Stewart Living ©
For our model reader Karen, a 49-year-old New Hampshire mother of two, a bicycle is a stylish and enjoyable way
to take a casual ride around her suburban neighborhood or
down to the local shops. Comfort, grace, and ease of maintenance were
key. It also needed a nostalgia factor: we wanted
Estia to remind riders like Karen of the
Schwinn and Peugeot classics of their childhood. A unique "scooter-bike" shape was chosen to offer easier mobility over short distances.
Final appearance model is 1:1 scale, made from PVC and 3D printed parts.
Group Project with Jason Palermo, Kenan Goodnight, Gary Edwards, Zach Downs, and Matthew Estes
